Dave Kelly, Host
Breakfast Television
Born in Ottawa and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Dave started his professional career as a junior high teacher. After eight years in education, he decided to shift his career to the world of the arts. For years this decision led him into the spotlight in theatres. From Crazy for you in Toronto to Hank Williams in Calgary, while on stage, Dave started working in front of the camera- eventually producing and hosting Helptv on Access Television in Edmonton. After two years of hosting educational television, Dave moved to Calgary to host morning television. For the past seven years, Dave's sense of humor and connection to the community has made Breakfast Television one of Calgary’s most popular morning shows.
Dave has been chosen as one of Calgary Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 for four straight years. Dave is one of the most sought after personalities to host or appear at events in the city of Calgary. He has been nominated twice and won the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association’s Best Host award. In 2002, Calgary Mayor Dave Bronconnier presented him with the White Hat Award for his tireless volunteer work with such charities as the Kids Cancer Care Foundation. Dave has lent his talent and enthusiasm for countless hours, volunteering as host, emcee or keynote speaker for the Calgary community. Most recently Dave was honored to emcee the special tribute celebration for the Queen's visit to Calgary in May 2005. Dave enjoys keeping active by competing in various triathlons around the city of Calgary.
