Nadya Blanchette
Acclaimed for her warm creamy voice and charismatic stage presence, Nadya Blanchette sings worldwide. She is invited to sing throughout Europe, USA, Canada, South Africa, China and Japan for music festivals, concerts and prestigious international events.
With Cirque du Soleil, Nadya Blanchette performed opera during nearly 500 shows in Germany and Monaco. At Pierre E. Trudeau's State Funeral, she offered a compelling performance of Gounod's Ave Maria, broadcasted on the radio and television networks. She toured with a symphony orchestra across Canada as part of Les Rendez-vous de la Francophonie.
Nadya Blanchette has received many distinctions and prizes (Prize for Best Performance of a Canadian Work at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition, Second Prize at the Stepping Stone of the Canadian Music Competition…) while obtaining a Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from the Montreal University.
Nadya Blanchette recently made her Calgary solo debut with the Spiritus Chamber Choir under the baton of Pierre Simard, CPO’s resident conductor (CBC broadcast). Her first CD Le Maestro, sa Muse… features famous opera arias and a tango in original arrangements for voice and chamber orchestra. She is invited namely with the Orchestre Métropolitain, I Musici de Montréal and choirs in Belgium, Canada, Romania and France.
Nadya Blanchette nurtures a diversified interest for music. Her wide repertoire includes the great opera roles to cabaret, as well as symphony masterworks, contemporary music, songs in various languages as well as movie and Broadway favourites.
